In spite of the challenges posed by the pandemic, the M4EG Pioneer Projects teams have been persistently working to achieve their goals as well as share their experience and best practices. This time we are presenting to you the stories from:

Glubokoye, Belarus – Offering education and support services for entrepreneurs

Gagauzia, Moldova – Creating a regional brand

Bolnisi, Georgia – Supporting local agro-producers by creating a specialized AgroHub

Hlyboka, Ukraine – Economic growth centers and cooperation for rural communities

Severynivka, Ukraine – Tourism development based on the local competitive advantage

Nove Misto, Ukraine – Tourism development based on a creative idea

Slavutych, Ukraine – Improving business support “hard” infrastructure

Baranivka, Ukraine – Preparing local young people for their future careers

Dolyna, Ukraine – Supporting local bee-keepers in improving their production and sales

The World Bank resumed targeted topical trainings for M4EG Signatories after a break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The contents and delivery format of the trainings have been adjusted to the new reality and the materials are now available online.

The "Mayors for Economic Growth" Secretariat has asked its member municipalities in Ukraine to share their most significant achievements and successes

Here’s what we have got in response. Enjoy!

It’s always good to look back and take stock of all the work done in the 4 years of the M4EG Initiative implementation.

We have talked with our Signatories in each country and prepared 6 Reports on Results and Impact of Local Economic Development Plans implementation in 2019-2020, summarizing the main achievements and lessons learnt. They are available in English and in their respective national languages.

Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) is an Initiative of the European Union, which was set in operation in January 2017 within the Eastern Partnership framework. The overall goal of the project is to support Mayors and municipalities of the Eastern Partnership countries to become active facilitators for economic growth and job creation at the local level.
