Special note from the M4EG Secretariat on the situation regarding COVID-19

16 April 2020

Dear Signatories, Partners, Stakeholders… Friends!

Just like many other organisations, businesses, and projects, the M4EG Initiative has seen its operations significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused the governments of all the participating countries to put in place limitations of varying extent in order to prevent the spread of the virus.

At the same time, our main clients, local administrations in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, are currently facing daunting challenges, related not only to the virus itself, but also to the unprecedented disruption of economic activity locally and worldwide. This will call for extreme measures for the economies to rebound after the epidemic subsides.

In this situation the M4EG Secretariat is continuing our work remotely, doing our best to keep providing our usual services to the Signatories in the new challenging context, and also develop new ones on demand.

The European Commission and the M4EG Secretariat have been in close contact, discussing the needs of the hour and adjusting the project activities accordingly, aiming at smart interventions with maximum effect.

We’ll keep you informed of the developments.

Meanwhile, here is what we have achieved in the first three months of Year 2020.
