124 Junior M4EG Members have officially submitted their Local Economic Development Plans for evaluation in September.

In full accordance with the conditions set forward in the M4EG Membership Form, the first “wave” of the M4EG Signatories – 124 cities and municipalities which were the first ones to join the Initiative – have finished work on their Local Economic Development Plans and are currently waiting for the results of the technical evaluation of their documents by the World Bank expert team.   

High level Conference "Municipalities for Sustainable Growth" to gather together over 350 representatives of municipalities and national ministries from the Eastern Partnership countries in Kyiv, Ukraine

On 22-23 November, the Ukrainian capital city will be hosting a large-scale regional Conference, organized jointly by the two major EU-funded Initiatives for the Eastern Partnership countries – the Covenant of Mayors and Mayors for Economic Growth . The main focus of the event will be the role of Local Authorities in identifying and addressing the complexities of sustainable development, economic resilience and climate action.

Strategic Management students of the American University assist the M4EG members in Armenia in their LEDPs preparation.

A unique internship opportunity was offered by the M4EG team in Armenia to senior year Bachelor students of the American University of Armenia (AUA) this summer.


Experienced EU practitioners will help selected local administrations in the Eastern Partnership region implement their Local Economic Development Plans (LEDPs)

While the new Acting M4EG members will be focusing on implementing their approved LEDPs, the M4EG Secretariat is ready to support them with a new Staff Exchange Programme, which will allow targeted and tailor-made hands-on support to tackling problematic topics and issues related to local economic development.   
Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) is an Initiative of the European Union, which was set in operation in January 2017 within the Eastern Partnership framework. The overall goal of the project is to support Mayors and municipalities of the Eastern Partnership countries to become active facilitators for economic growth and job creation at the local level.
