The Capacity Building Programme on Local Economic Development Plans (LDPs) elaboration to yield results in the next two months

The first groups of Signatories from all the participating countries, who embarked on the four-module training programme on Local Economic Development planning in November last year, are approaching the finishing line in the process of preparing their plans.

The total of 125 representatives of member municipalities region-wide have completed three out of a series of four trainings and worked hard on the practical assignments they were given between the trainingevents. Each stage of local economic development planning was specifically addressed at a tailor-made module, combining both theory and practical assignments on such topics as mobilizing and engaging local stakeholders into the planning process, conducting multifaceted analyses of the local economic situation, defining the vision and objectives for local economic growth, and designing a relevant action plan to achieve them.

As the result of these efforts, the participants will be presenting their draft LDPs to their peers and international expertsduring the last training event in May.
