Training on Public Investment Management conducted by World Bank experts for the Armenian and Georgian M4EG Signatories

The World Bank's two lead public investment management specialists conducted two 1.5-day trainings for local economic development officers of over 40 local authorities of Georgia and Armenia (on 17-18 February in Yerevan and 20-21 February in Tbilisi). The training focused on improving public capital investment projects’ identification, appraisal, and monitoring at the local level. The workshop was conceived as a follow-up to the WB team’s technical review of the Local Economic Development Plans submitted by M4EG Signatories, which identified this topic as one requiring more capacity building on the ground for better results.

Twenty representatives of the most active and successful M4EG Signatories from the six participating countries took part in a study tour for decision-makers to Latvia, organised by the M4EG Secretariat jointly with Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LALRG).

We are continuing to share best practices in local economic development and success stories from M4EG signatories

Today we offer you:

- A story about how the M4EG Pioneer Project in Sevan is changing the lives of young Armenian entrepreneurs;

- A case study for intermunicipal cooperation of three high mountainous municipalities in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in Georgia;
